To our dear dedicated dental patients:
After practicing dentistry for 36 years, I have decided to announce my retirement. It has been my singular honor to be your dentist. In some cases, I have treated three generations of your family. Each of you has become a valued friend.
After a long and careful search, I have selected Dr. Nipa Thakkar to take over from me in providing you with the highest level, patient-centered dental care. Dr. Thakkar is a caring, talented and compassionate professional, who shares my commitment to exemplary dentistry.
Dr. Nipa Thakkar, a second-generation dentist, and New York native, is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. She holds a BS in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Masters in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Oral Biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her General Practice Residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA.
In addition to learning the Pankey philosophy for clinical excellence in dentistry, Dr. Thakkar currently serves in several leadership roles with the American Dental Association and Pennsylvania Dental Association. She has completed the ADA Diversity in Leadership program in 2014, and was the inaugural recipient to the ADA Henry Schein Cares Dr. David Whiston Leadership Award in 2015. Dr. Thakkar graduated dental school as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and a recipient of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry’s Community Dentistry Award.
I know you will be pleased with Dr. Thakkar and will extend her the same courtesy and loyalty that you have afforded me over these many years.
Dr. Thakkar and I have worked closely to ensure a smooth transition in response to your specific needs. We gladly will answer any of your questions about the transition in the weeks ahead.
Finally, your many kindnesses have always been appreciated; I will miss you!
