Most of our patients come to us seeking our expertise in reconstructive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and TMJ related disorders. Whatever your reason, our trained and experienced staff will help make your first appointment comfortable. Dr. Swenda takes the time to learn how he can make a difference for each and every patient.
For most, your first visit will begin with an initial consultation with Dr. Swenda. He believes in taking the time to listen and understand your long-term goals, your vision for your oral health, expectations, timelines, and your life circumstances. Dr. Swenda will then be better prepared to provide the highest quality aesthetic, restorative and general dentistry that is appropriate to meet your specific individual needs and desires.
OUR COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION
After your initial consultation, we will give you a comprehensive examination. Our comprehensive exam consists of a complete series of digital photo images, x-rays of the teeth and surrounding bone structure, periodontal evaluation, tooth by tooth survey, cavity detection, TMJ evaluation, oral cancer screening, and blood pressure screening. Additional diagnostics may include mounted models of the teeth to study bite issues, or 3D i-CAT imaging of the jaw and surrounding structures. A complete and thorough examination helps to ensure a dental restoration that’s naturally attractive, functional, comfortable, and long-lasting.
OUR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT PLANNING
Dr. Swenda has over 30 years of experience diagnosing and creating successful treatment plans for a wide range of cases. He has many years of training and teaching in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Once we have a mutual goal for your treatment and have properly diagnosed any issues, our office then develops an appropriate strategic plan and timeframe that is fully understood by the patient. Dr. Swenda is trained to diagnose the needs for all aspects of dentistry, even though he does not treat them all. He works closely with a team of specialists and lab technicians to provide the best outcome for his patients.
